Meeting Roz Hernandez in Detroit: A Night of Laughs, Ghosts, and Glamour

After years of following Roz Hernandez’s work, I finally got to see her perform live—and yes, it was absolutely worth every mile of the commute.

If you're not familiar with Roz (and you should be!), she’s a brilliant comedian, podcast host, and one of the ghosthunters on the show Living for the Dead. Whether she’s investigating paranormal activity or making us laugh until we cry, Roz always brings a magnetic energy to everything she does. Seeing her in person only confirmed what I already knew: she’s a star in every sense of the word.

Roz’s Detroit show on May 16, 2025, was everything I hoped it would be—funny, interactive, and full of personality. From the moment she stepped on stage, she had the audience locked in. Her timing was impeccable, her stories were hilarious, and the way she brought us into the experience made it feel like we were all just hanging out with a fabulously funny friend.

What made the night even more special? I got to meet her! In person, Roz is tall (like…model tall), absolutely beautiful, and a complete fashion goddess. Her style is bold, otherworldly, and uniquely her. She radiates confidence and kindness—and I was completely starstruck in the best way. I even bought a Polaroid of her and picked up one of her signature bumper stickers to commemorate the night. Total fangirl moment, no regrets.

There’s something magical about getting to meet someone you’ve admired from afar—someone whose work has brought you joy, made you laugh, and maybe even helped you feel a little less alone. That’s what Roz has done for me, through podcasts, ghost hunts, and now, a live comedy show I’ll never forget.

So, here’s to Roz Hernandez: for being hilarious, stylish, spooky, and everything in between. And here’s to saying yes to moments like these, ones that feed your spirit and leave you smiling for days.
